This ends the Tumblr photos series discussing the construction of the KC-135 1:16 model for the KC-135 Ground Tracking Network. If you’d like to see it from the beginning please click on either KC-135 Ground Tracking Network or Fire & Judgement in the header and then scroll down to the beginning. You can also click on this photo to go to the Intermod Series website page for more information. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer them if I can.

On December 2nd, 2009, the KC-135 Ground Tracking Network members gathered on the north side of Chicago for Fire & Judgement, a one-time purging event/gathering that began at midnight and ended permanently at 1:00 am.

Another view of the boiler room and the stairs that lead down into it. It still makes me happy when I see it.

After putting out a call for spaces to have the event/gathering I got a response from my friend Bill Milosz. He offered up a boiler room on the north side of Chicago. When I first visited I took this snapshot. It was the perfect space. Obviously, it needed to be cleared out but they’d been meaning to do that for awhile and so they did. And look how it’s all concrete.. even the ceiling. And the creepiness is a problem? No, it’s not. It’s perfect.

Back to the KC-135 1:16 model. This is a view of the model at VONZWECK in Chicago. It was presented there initially to generate interest in the project. It was inactive (this was not the setting to do otherwise) and would only be presented live for the event on December 2nd. Future network members could get familiar with the KC-135 up-close in 3D.
